Data Scientist, Full Performance
OVERVIEW:
Eleccion is seeking a full performance Data Scientist to fulfill a role with our client. The position requires strong technical and computational skills—engineering, physics, mathematics—coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and using high-performance computing environments. The Data Scientist should demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills with a strong passion and curiosity for big data.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be involved in the analysis of unstructured and semi-structured data, including latent semantic indexing (LSI), entity identification and tagging, complex event processing (CEP), and the application of analysis algorithms on distributed, clustered, and cloud-based high-performance infrastructures. They must exercise creativity in applying non-traditional approaches to large-scale analysis of unstructured data in support of high-value use cases visualized through multi-dimensional interfaces. The Data Scientist will handle processing and index requests against high-volume collections of data and high-velocity data streams and should have the ability to make discoveries in the world of big data. They must also have the ability to use advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions. The candidate should have an understanding of AI/ML and the ability to leverage AI/ML tools to fulfill client requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Degree in computer science, data analytics, or related field and equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience; Master’s degree with 3-5 years of experience; PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
- Previous experience with Python
- Experience with AI and machine learning
- Able to perform database queries
- Well-versed in aggregating, cleaning, synthesizing large sets of data
- Able to implement automation and develop algorithms
- Familiar with AWS
- Able to utilize data presentation tools
- Ability to work with a team to understand and support technical requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of stakeholders
- Understanding of emerging technical trends
